About Me

I was born in Preston, Lancashire, England, in 1961, and studied Chemistry at Bradford University.  After graduation I worked in the software industry developing and implementing computer systems for UK Business and International Banking.

Much of my working life was spent away from the UK, I was privileged to work in such exotic locations as Bangkok, Luxembourg, the Vatican, and Warsaw.  I really enjoyed the work, the travel, and the lifestyle.

After more than twenty years experience hacking computer systems, my last contract finished in late 2004.  Time for a change of pace.

Farewell to the amazing IBM AS400 midrange computer, the fantastic RPG programming language and the superb IBIS banking software.

About My Site

My first website, posted online in 1999 was a single page of my favourite links, my "bookmarks" for use in an Internet cafe.  Since then my site has been expanded considerably to include additional content, photographs and travel tips.
